The Chair in Landscape and Environmental Design at the University of Montreal participated in the reflection of the Advisory Committee on the future of the Olympic Park.
In spring 2012, the Chair in Landscape and Environmental Design was commissioned by the Advisory Committee on the future of the Olympic Park to conduct a study on the characterization of landscape experiences of the Olympic Park site. The study also examined the appropriateness of a design contest to plan its redevelopment. Following public consultation on the future of the Olympic Park, this study allowed the Advisory Committee to continue its reflection on the development issues of the Olympic Park, 1 of 4 themes selected along with governance, sport, and tourism.
The final report of the Advisory Committee on the future of the Olympic Park was released on December 13th, 2012.
In response to this research, the CUPEUM initiated a prospective planning exercise on the future site of the Olympic Park of Montréal.
