2007 – Forum Chaire UNESCO en paysage et environnement – UNESCO – Paris

4 — 5 June 2007

  • Description

Organized in partnership with the Sector of Social and Human Sciences of UNESCO’s MOST Programme, the 2nd Forum of the UNESCO Chair in Urban Landscape at the University of Montreal (CUPUM) was held at UNESCO Headquarters (Paris, France) June 4 and 5, 2007.

The first Forum took place in October 2003, in Paris as part of the launch of CUPUM. The inaugural event provided an opportunity to outline the commitments of CUPUM partners and to implement cooperation activities. This second reunion gathered partners of the organization’s scientific network from Italy, Morocco, Lebanon, and Canada as well as program managers affiliated with the UNESCO Chair. The Forum also welcomed new network partners (Tunisia, Syria, and South Korea).

This event was an opportunity for all partners to report on cooperation activities in terms of teaching and research initiated from 2003 to 2007, and to discuss cooperation projects for the years 2007 to 2010.

After each session, a debate period and discussion facilitated dialogue and idea-sharing on appointed subjects. The sessions included:

    • "Presentation of participants and new partners on CUPUM’s scientific network"
    • "Lessons from WAT"
    • "Training in landscape architecture"
    • "Research in landscape: projects and perspectives"
    • And an informative session on the UNESCO programs
