Under the theme ‘Harmonious urbanization,’ the 4th World Urban Forum (FUM4) was held in Nanjing, China, organized by UN-Habitat. Invited by UNESCO, the UNESCO Chair in Urban Landscape actively participated in the event. Philippe Poullaouec-Gonidec, Chairholder, led a conference on the place d’Armes project in Montreal and acted as chair of the round table during a session that focused on historic neighborhoods. Lyndsey Daudier, Research Assistant, also took part in the round table discussion.
This forum by UN-HABITAT was also a unique platform for discussions and networking for the UNESCO Chair and its international partners. The projects completed during the WAT_Jinze were exhibited at the UNESCO kiosque throughout the event. WAT_Jinze was also the subject of a presentation delivered during the session ‘Education for sustainable urban development.’ It is important to note that the presence of the UNESCO Chair at the FUM4 showcased participating institutions on an international scale.
