WAT-MTL 2011: Twelve Planning Proposals for the Entrance to the City of Montreal

News

Immediately following the YUL-MTL: Moving Landscapes international idea contest, the UNESCO Chair in Urban Landscape of the University of Montreal launched the WAT_UNESCO Montreal 2011, from which twelve environmental design visions aiming to create a strong and distinctive cultural identity for the entry point of the city of Montreal would emerge.

The propositions will directly contribute to those already being discussed by the Round Table for the Entrance to the City Via Autoroute 20, composed of representatives from the city, the boroughs, regional planning organizations and ministries directly concerned by the urban planning of this territory.

Four winning propositions were selected by an international jury presided by Brigitte Colin, “Architecture and City” specialist for Migration and Urbanization at UN-Habitat/UNESCO.
